HOUSTON (AP) -- The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired Lawton native Kelly Stinnett from the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash.
The 37-year-old Stinnett is a catcher and is scheduled to join the Cardinals before tomorrow's game against Cincinnati. He'll team with Gary Bennett to fill in while starting catcher Yadier Molina recovers from a fractured wrist.
Stinnett has played for seven teams in eleven major league seasons. He hit a career-high 14 homers with Arizona in 1999 and has a .237 lifetime average in the majors.
