OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Nate Gold hit two home runs and drove in seven runs as the Oklahoma RedHawks beat the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 16-to-2 Sunday.
Gold went 5-for-5 and scored five times. He was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.
Gold's offensive outburst featured a two-run double in the first, a solo home run in the third, an RBI single in the fifth, an RBI double in the seventh and a two-run homer in the eighth.
Desi Relaford added three hits and four RBIs for Oklahoma, and Jason Botts scored four times.
Jerry Hairston Junior hit his first home run with the RedHawks. The Texas Rangers outfielder is on the disabled list and rehabbing from a pinched nerve in his neck.
Clint Barmes had four hits for the Sky Sox. Starter Marc Kaiser gave up eight runs and ten of the RedHawks' 20 hits in four-and-two-thirds innings.
Former Oklahoma Sooners pitcher Mark Redman got his first win with the RedHawks.
