LAWTON, Okla. (AP) -- Senator Jim Inhofe is predicting a proposed artillery system for the U.S. Army will be approved and eventually assembled in southwest Oklahoma.
Inhofe said during a luncheon in Lawton that what's called the "Non-Line-of-Site Cannon" will become a reality and will be built in Elgin.
The system would be a more lightweight successor to a proposed artillery system called "Crusader" which was canceled.
