OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Oklahoma City will not share in the New Orleans Hornets' revenue for their second season in their temporary home.
That's according to figures the NBA team provided the city.
The Hornets calculated their revenue for their 35 Oklahoma City home games to be $38.9 million , about $1 million shy of a $40 million benchmark that would have triggered revenue sharing between the team and the city.
The Associated Press obtained the documents with those numbers today through an open records request. The city has 30 days to review the figures and have them independently audited.
Last year, Oklahoma City and the Hornets spent months negotiating a settlement that reimbursed the city for its $2.6 million in expenses for temporarily relocating the team and gave it another 1.2 million to split with partners who shared a $10 million revenue guarantee to the team.
The Hornets' final revenues in Oklahoma City for 2005-06 were $40.2 million.
