ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Georgia and Alaska have joined Oklahoma among the states pushing up their presidential primary voting to February 5th. Iowa opens the presidential nomination process with its caucuses on January 14th. Nevada Democrats will hold their caucus on January 19th and New Hampshire is tentatively scheduled to hold the nation's first primary on January 22nd.
Next will come the onslaught of primaries scheduled for February 5th, a total of 15 so far.
Delegate-rich New York, California and New Jersey all are scheduled to vote that day along with Georgia and Alaska. Another five states, including Illinois and Texas, are close to making a similar shift.
Last week, Florida joined South Carolina Democrats with plans for a primary on January 29th.
