A stranded motorist dies after an auto-pedestrian accident early Monday morning. Tulsa Police say someone hit and killed a pregnant woman who was trying to flag down help after she wrecked her car. It happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday near 193rd East Avenue and 41st Street.
Police say the car the woman was riding in ran off the road and landed in a nearby creek bed. The woman and the male driver were walking along 41st Street for help when the woman was hit and killed by another vehicle. She died on impact.
Tulsa Police have not released her name, but they the News On 6, she is in her 20s and was 6 months pregnant.
The driver who hit her, wrecked their car and was sent to a Tulsa hospital. Tulsa Police say if they determine the person was drinking or speeding, charges could follow for the woman's death and that of her unborn child.
