The latest change in the rules at the airport has some passengers starting their summer stranded. Americans are now required to have a passport before they fly anywhere outside the country, including Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. The News On 6’s Joshua Brakhage reports what impact these changes will have on your next airline trip.

It's a busy weekend at the airport, not just because of the three day weekend. School's out, high schoolers are headed on end-of-school trips, local students are going on overseas missions, and college kids are studying abroad. The only problem they have with Tulsa International Airport is the International part.

People have been trying to make sure they're ready for the new rules for months. Passport application centers have been overwhelmed, and many passengers won't make their flights because their passports are either delayed or never came. Those in a hurry are flying to the passport center in Houston, Texas. There, travelers can get their passports in a day or two, if they're willing to wait in line.

Oklahoma Congressman Dan Boren is petitioning the Secretary of State to open another center somewhere closer, like Oklahoma City or Wichita. Right now, those plans are on hold.
