OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Eddie Vasquez had two RBIs and Kansas State pitchers combined for five hits to lead Kansas State to a 5-1 victory over Nebraska late Thursday in the Big 12 Conference baseball tournament.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Eddie Vasquez had two RBIs and Kansas State pitchers combined for five hits to lead Kansas State to a 5-1 victory over Nebraska late Thursday in the Big 12 Conference baseball tournament.

The Wildcats (34-23) never trailed, getting two runs in the bottom of the second inning and another run in the fourth for a 3-0 advantage.

Eli Rumler reached base on a fielder's choice and Vasquez's first RBI, a groundout to the pitcher, came in the second inning. Rumler scored an unearned run on an error in the fourth.

The Cornhuskers (30-24) finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the sixth inning when Andrew Brown singled to score Mitch Abeita.

Kansas State got insurance runs in the eighth on Vasquez's second RBI and an RBI by Adam Muenster.

Brad Hutt (9-4) allowed three hits and one run in eight innings for Kansas State.

Charlie Shirek (2-7) allowed four hits, two runs and struck out three in three innings for Nebraska.
