OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma Ethics Commission has agreed to consider withdrawing a contentious rule to ban transfer of money between political action committees.
That move comes after an outside attorney retained by the Oklahoma House raised questions about its constitutionality.
A revised Ethics Commission agenda for Friday includes the reconsideration of the PAC-to-PAC transfer rule and another rule that would allow staff members to seek a rule interpretation.
The decision to revisit the two rules comes after recent discussions between House and Senate leaders and two members of the ethics panel, John Raley of Ponca City and Ken Elliott of Oklahoma City.
Raley says he and Elliott were asked by Commission Chairman James Loy of Chickasha to enter into the discussions on the rules and report back to the full commission.
