ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- Top-seeded Stanford advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA women's tennis championships for the 25th time in 26 years with a 4-1 victory over ninth-seeded Miami on Sunday.

The Cardinal will face a familiar Pac Ten foe in Monday's semifinal -- the 12th-seeded UCLA Bruins, who upset No. 4 seed Florida 4-3.

"This wasn't an easy match," said Stanford's Whitney Deason, who scored the deciding point in No. 4 singles with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Miami's Romy Farah.

Miami's Audra Cohen won the No. 1 singles match handily, beating Theresa Logar 6-0, 6-3.

The No. 5 singles match gave UCLA its victory over the Lady Gators when Alex McGoodwin beat Csilla Borsany 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).

"It was a really tight match, especially when I got broken there late in the second set," McGoodwin said. "I think we were both nervous and we both really, really wanted to win."

Florida won both No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Diana Srebrovic beat Riza Zalameda 6-3, 0-6, 7-5 in No. 1 and Megan Alexander took care of Tracy Lin 6-2, 6-4 in No. 2.
