A month ago News On 6 reporter Rick Wells brought us the story of a young mama dog who wanted a better life for her litter of puppies. On Thursday, he revisited the dogs out at the SPCA shelter and found a family doing very well.

Margaret Carnahan is a regular volunteer for the SPCA and she's fostering the dogs at her house. They've named the three puppies, two females and a male, Tippy, Tux, and Ty. Mom came in as Little Bear, but has been renamed Lady Bear because she has become one.

"We walk around four times a day," said Carnahan.

Otherwise she says Lady does everything for her puppies. She's a good mom, she's really taken to this domesticated life style. You may remember from our first story she was living in the weeds along Port Road. Rena Cook and Susi Easton were dropping off food on the way home from work when they found her.

"I finally decided to leave notes for each other, so if someone took the dog we'd know where she went," said Easton.

Then, one night the dog jumped in Cook's truck and had the puppies in her garage, and now they are at the SPCA. Veterinarian Melissa Montgomery says they're doing fine.

"I think they're gonna be the perfect medium-sized mixed breed, great family dog," said Montgomery.

Carnahan says once Lady's mommy duties are complete, she is going to be a prize.

"She's going to make a wonderful pet for someone," said Carnahan.

The puppies will be with their mom for a few more weeks before they can go home with someone else. There are plenty of pictures of Tippy, Tux and Ty, and of course Mom too, on the Tulsa SPCA website.
