KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (AP) -- Former British Open champion Greg Norman has withdrawn from next week's Senior PGA championship for personal reasons.

Tournament officials say the former world number one had been scheduled to be in a field that includes defending champion Jay Haas, Tom Watson, Hale Irwin and Seve Ballesteros.

The tournament will take place from May 24th through the 27th at The Ocean Course on Kiawah Island, South Carolina. That's where they played the 1991 Ryder Cup.
