DETROIT (AP) _ Scott Niedermayer enjoys going to the rink with his brother, Rob, and also having him around away from it to spend time with his three sons.

It's an added bonus when they help the Anaheim Ducks win as they did Sunday night.

Scott Niedermayer scored at 14:17 of overtime _ on an assist from his brother _ to lift Anaheim to a 4-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings and square the Western Conference finals at a game apiece.

``Teaming up for goals, that's neat,'' Scott Niedermayer said. ``I didn't really see it go in, actually,'' he said. ``I saw it hit the post.''

Rob Niedermayer set up his brother for a shot from the right circle that went through traffic and found an opening between Dominik Hasek and the post.

``This is a big thrill for me, for sure,'' he said. ``It's certainly nice to come up with the win tonight, and just watching Scott score that winning goal was pretty special.''

Game 3 is Tuesday night in Anaheim.

As they did in Game 1, the Ducks controlled the puck and the play. Unlike Game 1, they came away Sunday with something to show for it.

``They're really good at hanging onto the puck and cycling in the corners,'' Detroit's Nicklas Lidstrom said. ``I think that's how they get a lot of pressure in our own end.''

Anaheim outshot Detroit 33-27 _ including a 7-2 edge in overtime _ and seemed to outplay the home team, particularly when special teams were not on the ice.

``Five on five, they spent more time below the hash marks in our zone than we spent in their zone,'' Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said.

Detroit seemed fortunate to win the series opener 2-1 because an opponent touched the puck last on both its goals. ``We had some lucky bounces in the first and they had a few in this one,'' Henrik Zetterberg said.

Anaheim was thankful the NHL uses video replays because its second and third goals went up on the scoreboard after reviews, and both appeared to be the correct calls.

``Both pucks were in the net,'' Ducks coach Randy Carlyle. ``It's as simple as that.''

Detroit took its first and only lead 1:03 into the third period on a Pavel Datsyuk goal that made it 3-2. Travis Moen tied it 4 minutes later, giving the Ducks their second straight goal that required a video review.

Swarming defense limited scoring chances for the rest of regulation and when shots did go toward the net, Hasek and Anaheim's Jean-Sebastien Giguere turned them away.

Hasek had 29 saves and Giguere finished with 24.

``Our goal was to get at least one here,'' Giguere said. ``Now we have home ice and we have to take advantage of it.''

In the first two periods Sunday, the Ducks took the lead twice and Detroit tied the game each time. Rob Niedermayer scored at 17:04 of the first period and Kirk Maltby answered with a short-handed goal midway through the second.

Andy McDonald scored _ following a review _ a little more than a minute after Maltby to put Anaheim ahead 2-1.

Lidstrom tied it at 16:07 of the second period with a power-play goal.

``It was one of those games that could have went either way,'' Carlyle said. ``We feel very fortunate to win.''
