OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A tracking system that allows Oklahomans to register to be notified about changes in the status of inmates is now available in more than half of the state's 77 counties.
The Victim Information and Notification Everyday program alerts crime victims when a certain offender is released or escapes from custody. Known by the acronym VINE, the program is being implemented by Attorney General Drew Edmondson's office.
Garvin County last week became the 39th county where the program has been implemented.
