OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The first-round games of the Big 12 Softball Championship were postponed Thursday because of heavy rain at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.
The games between Oklahoma State and Texas Tech and Kansas and Iowa State were set to begin at 5 p.m., but thunderstorms began moving through the area about the same time.
As a result, the Jayhawks will now open the tournament with its game against Iowa State at 11 a.m. Friday, followed by the Texas Tech-Oklahoma State game at 11:30 a.m.
Missouri will play Texas at 1:30 p.m. and Nebraska and Texas A&M will meet at 2 p.m.
The winner of the Kansas-Iowa State game will play Oklahoma and the OSU-Texas Tech game winner will play Baylor.
The semifinals begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the winners of those games playing for the conference title at 3 p.m.
