It's been just over a year since six inches of heavy rain battered Broken Arrow, causing flooding, stalled cars and water rescues. On Monday, BA got more than three inches of rain, and the scene looked all too familiar. The rain came down, and the streets in a Broken Arrow neighborhood filled up, covering curbs and some front lawns. The News On 6’s Carina Sonn reports drivers didn't seem to have too hard of a time getting around, but folks in other parts of town weren't so lucky.

"It rose probably 10 inches since I've been there, so it was a lot lower," said stranded driver Lauren Brenner.

Brenner was on her way to the dog groomers north of 71st and Oneta when she came across a flooded street. She decided to take a chance.

"I saw the water, and I was like well I'll creep forward a little bit to see how deep it was, and I was like, nah, so I turned around and I ended up in the ditch," said Brenner.

Police and fire say this was one of about 10 rescue runs Monday. Brenner and her pup Heidi will be just fine.

Heidi wasn't the only animal that needed help. In the same area, heavy rains caused headaches for horses too. Eight of them, plus their owner, were stranded. Fire officials had to use a boat to get the man to safety. The horses are doing fine.

All over the city of Broken Arrow, officials and employees were busy blocking roads that looked more like rivers. The Broken Arrow Police Department says it received a couple thousand calls Monday. Most of the callers were asking about alternate streets, because their usual route was flooded.
