DURHAM, N.C. (AP) _ Oklahoma State second baseman Tyler Mach and outfielder Corey Brown are among 50 players named Tuesday by USA Baseball as semifinalists for the Golden Spikes Award.
The award is presented annually to the nation's top college baseball player.
Mach, a senior from Kent, Washington, is hitting .408 with 10 home runs and 53 RBIs this season.
Brown, a junior from Tampa, Florida, is hitting .358 and leads OSU with 17 home runs and 57 RBIs.
OSU is one of nine schools to have multiple players on the semifinal list. The Cowboys are 31-13 overall this season and 10-8 in Big 12 Conference play.
The only previous OSU player to win the award is Robin Ventura, who did so in 1988.
No players from Oklahoma or Oral Roberts made the semifinal cut for the award.
