GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (AP)-- Kevin VanDam gets his first victory in a Bassmaster Elite Series event, finishing with a four-day total of 63 pounds, 3 ounces on Alabama's Lake Guntersville on today.
The 39-year-old VanDam, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, received a $100,000 top prize.
He rallied from fourth place and almost two pounds behind leader Terry Butcher of Talala, Oklahoma, with a catch of 25 pounds, 5 ounces.
Butcher had a final-day catch of 15 pounds, 11 ounces.
