STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Three Texas pitchers combine on a six-hit shutout today as the Longhorns complete a three-game sweep of Oklahoma State with a 7-0 win.
Texas moves to 37-12 overall and 17-4 in Big 12 Conference play. The Longhorns had entered the baseball series with a one-game lead in the loss column over OSU, which falls to 31-13 and 10-8.
Starter Austin Wood allowed three hits over six innings for Texas to move to 6-1. Joseph Krebs relieved Wood in the seventh and Randy Boone pitched a scoreless ninth for the Longhorns.
Texas scored three times in the third against OSU starter Joe Kent, using two singles, two walks, a sacrifice fly, an error and a balk.
The Longhorns added a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh, two on run-scoring singles by Bradley Suttle and Preston Clark. Suttle finished 1-3 with two RBIs and scored twice, while Chais Fuller went 3-3 with a RBI for Texas.
Ty Wright's 2-4 outing led the Cowboys.
