A fire that engulfed two 80,000-barrel tanks at an Oklahoma refinery could have an impact on gas prices. AAA spokesman Chuck Mai says this is already a volatile time of year, demand is high and gas inventories are down.
“Refineries are trying to do more with less, and the problems they've had at this very critical time of the year, the summer driving season, this is the worst time you want to see something like this happen,†he said.
Right now gas in Tulsa is running at $2.79 a gallon for regular. The national average is $2.94.
A lightning strike sparked a fire at the Wynnewood Refinery Friday morning.
