NEW YORK (AP) _ A car collided with a city bus Saturday, injuring 16 people, one critically, authorities said.

A New York City Transit bus and a car collided shortly before 6 a.m. in Queens, said Jeremy Soffin, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

The car driver, David Cho, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and disobeying a traffic device, police said. Cho, 25, was in stable condition at New York Hospital Medical Center, police said.

Fifteen people were on the bus at the time of the crash, Soffin said. Thirteen were taken to local hospitals and two were treated at the scene for minor injuries, he said. Three people in the car were also hospitalized, one in critical condition.

None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, he said.

Attempts to reach Cho at the hospital were unsuccessful because the phone in his room was turned off. Police did not know if he had a lawyer.
