KREBS, Okla. (AP) -- Some 250 customers of Public Gas Company in Krebs could have their gas service back on line by next Wednesday. Three utility companies and a California investment firm have agreed to supply gas to residents whose service was cut off because Public Gas owner Sammy Germany hasn't paid suppliers who provide the gas.
LeAnn Gas in Ochelata will operate the system while CenterPoint Energy will re-light pilot lights and turn on meters and Enogex will transport the gas.
California Navitas Assets of Bakersfield, California, will pay for the gas. The company has shown interest in buying small natural gas companies but it isn't known if it plans to buy Public Gas.
Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Matt Skinner says Germany owes the suppliers tens of thousands of dollars and has been fined $130,000 for violating commission rules and guidelines.
