IRVING, Texas (AP) _ Several Oklahomans are near the top of the leaderboard going into today's second round of the PGA's Byron Nelson Championship in Irving Texas.
Former Oklahoma State golfer Scott Verplank of Edmond opened with a 67 to trail leader Sean O'Hair by two shots.
Former Cowboy Bo Van Pelt of Bixby is just three shots back after a first-round 68. Former Oklahoma Sooner Glen Day is one more shot back with a 69.
Former Sooner and British Open champion Todd Hamilton and former Cowboy Bob Tway of Edmond are each at 71 while former Cowboy Charles Howell the third is at 75.
