Some Rogers County police officers have a new line of defense when they're out on the streets. Two canine cops in Coweta received bulletproof vests Thursday thanks to Windstream Communications.
"We wear vests when we go into dangerous situations, and I wouldn't want to send my dog into a dangerous situation without the added protection that Windstream has been kind enough to provide for these dogs," said Officer Scott Fraley.
The four-legged officers also did a little showing off at the Wal-Mart parking lot, demonstrating their drug detecting abilities. It's all part of a public campaign to promote safety.
