LAWTON, Okla. (AP) _ More than three dozen soldiers based at Fort Sill are heading back to Iraq for a more than year-long deployment. Forty-four members of the 761st Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit is expected to spend about 15 months where they'll disarm home-made bombs and unexploded ordnance.

For First Sergeant Theodore McCarty this will be his third deployment.

McCarty is a more than 20-year Army veteran and has submitted papers to retire but ``stop-loss'' is keeping him in the service.

The stop-loss policy allows the military to keep soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines in war zones beyond their retirement or enlistment length.
