The driver of a semi-truck was killed when Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say the driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel. It happened about 7 a.m. Tuesday at mile marker 209 on the Turner Turnpike, near Kellyville. Both eastbound lanes of the turnpike were shut down for more than two hours.
OHP troopers say it appears the driver swerved off the road to the right then came back across the road, hitting a bridge. Troopers say a few miles earlier, a witness had seen the truck swerving and tried to alert the truck driver, but decided it was too dangerous.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol will review the trucker’s driver log to see how many hours the driver had been on the road.
The victim's name hasn't been released.
