OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- At least 7 schools in Oklahoma were forced to deal with threats last week following the shooting at Virginia Tech. An 8th-grader in Tulsa was arrested for carrying a .22-caliber pistol onto campus. Rumors of hit lists were reported at Sand Springs, Broken Arrow and Oologah-Talala.
Students at Moore reported other students wearing shirts with threatening language and threatening notes were found at Enid and Yukon schools.
Sand Springs assistant Police Chief Mike Carter says some people choose the week because it includes the anniversaries of the Oklahoma City bombing, the shooting at Columbine and the fall of the Branch Davidian compound.
Carter says he's considering asking state lawmakers to declare this particular week as spring break.
