The driver of an 18-wheeler survived a close call after the cab of his truck exploded. It happened just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the LaFarge Cement plant located near 2600 North 145th East Avenue.
Huge plumes of black smoke filled the sky above the explosion. The plant manager says the cab of a truck burst into flames while the driver was unloading fuel.
Fire crews from Catoosa, Oak Grove and Rolling Hills quickly responded keeping the flames from spreading.
The driver of the truck was not hurt.
