Inmate Found Dead, Sister Arrested

ADA, Okla. (AP) -- Pontotoc County authorities investigating the death of a county jail inmate have arrested the inmate's sister.<br/><br/>David Wayne Ellis was found unresponsive in his cell Monday.

ADA, Okla. (AP) -- Pontotoc County authorities investigating the death of a county jail inmate have arrested the inmate's sister.

David Wayne Ellis was found unresponsive in his cell Monday. He had been arrested April 5th for public intoxication and burglary.

Undersheriff Joe Glover says Ellis' sister -- Mary Jane Martinez -- was arrested Monday night on complaints of bringing contraband into a jail, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and false impersonation.

Glover says Martinez visited Ellis Sunday night and a jail video shows her giving him something that is believed to be some kind of narcotic.

Glover says Martinez is a nurse who was fired last week from the Mabel Bassett Corrections Facility.
