OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A group of doctors who oppose abortion are calling on Governor Henry to sign a bill which prohibits state hospitals, clinics and workers from performing abortions at state expense.
The only exception would be to save the life of the mother.
The bill is opposed by the State Medical Association, the state Osteopathic Association and the state Nursing Association. Those groups are calling for the governor to veto the bill.
The doctors who want the bill signed say they're disappointed with those who oppose it.
The bill passed the House by a 73-22 margin and passed the Senate on a 32-16 vote.
The governor has until Wednesday to sign the bill or veto it.
