STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) Denver businessman Russell Bass has been named as the president and chief executive officer of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association.
Bass will return to OSU after spending 27 years in marketing and sales management of high technology products. He will replace Jerry Gill, who retired. Nearly 100 people applied for the job, said Rex Horning, the chairman of the search committee.
"The selection committee felt that Russell's wealth of knowledge, coupled with his intense passion for his alma mater, would ensure the future of the OSU Alumni Association," said Calvin Anthony, the chairman of the association's board of directors and a member of the Oklahoma A&M Board of Regents.
Bass is now the vice president of worldwide channel and territory sales at Voyence, a Dallas-based software company. He also has held management positions with AT&T, Ascom Timeplex and Micromuse, a division of IBM.
He has lived in the Denver area for 21 years.
