BOLEY, Okla. (AP) -- Voters in the historic black town of Boley have voted 49-to-16 to close the high school. Boley Mayor Mary Joan Matthews says there was no other choice but to close the school because there are no more students.

14 students enrolled in Boley High School last August but none re-enrolled in January. Most have transferred to nearby schools such as Paden, Okemah and Prague.

The district's elementary school will remain open.
