OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Republican presidential candidate Sam Brownback will speak to the Oklahoma House on Wednesday. Brownback has served as a U.S. senator from Kansas since 1996.
Republican House Speaker Lance Cargill says that leaders in that legislative chamber have made a commitment to provide a, quote, ``open house'' for presidential candidates of both parties. Cargill says it's important to give the candidates a forum to talk to the people of Oklahoma.
Two other GOP presidential candidates, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and U.S. Senator John McCain of Arizona, have contacted the state House for upcoming appearances.
Cargill says he has asked House Democrat Leader Danny Morgan to help contact and schedule candidates from his party.
