ELMONT, N.Y. (AP) _ A man and woman trying to kick their grown son and his girlfriend out of the mother's house were shot and killed when the young couple turned on them, police said Monday.
Franklin Gallimore Jr., 51, and Grace Thorpe, 41, were each shot once in the head Sunday at Thorpe's home on Long Island, Nassau County police said.
Gallimore did not live with Thorpe but had been visiting to help evict their 20-year-old son, Franklin Gallimore III, and Katherine Galatro, his 18-year-old girlfriend, police said.
A neighbor who heard gunshots Sunday evening at Thorpe's home called police. Witnesses said they saw a man and woman flee in a luxury car shortly afterward.
The son and his girlfriend were arrested at around 2 a.m. Monday on murder charges, police said.
