CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Tennessee authorities arrested three people, including an Oklahoma man, and confiscated nearly 850 pounds of marijuana from a semi-truck.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was tipped by Texas authorities that the tractor-trailer filled with drugs with a street value estimated at $800,000 was en route to Tennessee.
Agents from both Tennessee and Texas performed surveillance on the truck as it traveled across the state Tuesday and Wednesday.
Authorities arrested Jimmy Smith, of Ochelata, Oklahoma, and Clifford Lewis and Ronald Lewis, both of Crossville, Wednesday.
They were charged with manufacture, delivery and sale of more than 600 pounds of marijuana and conspiracy to deliver and sell more than 600 pounds of marijuana.
