McALESTER, Okla. (AP) A man wanted in connection with the stabbing death of 42-year-old man in Pittsburg County has been arrested in Wyoming, officials said Thursday.
Clint E. Baker, 31, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by troopers with the Wyoming Highway Patrol after they received a tip from Oklahoma investigators that Baker may be traveling in the area in a tractor-trailer.
Troopers spotted Baker's truck during blizzard conditions near Rock Springs, Wyo., pulled him over and arrested him without incident, the Wyoming patrol said. He's currently being at the Sweetwater County Detention facility in Green River, Wyo., the patrol reported.
Baker, of Crockett, Texas, was charged Tuesday in Pittsburg County with first-degree murder in the killing of Todd Eugune Rich, whose body was discovered March 17 along a dirt road near Bugtussle. Rich, a truck driver from California, had been beaten and his throat had been slashed, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Baker is fighting extradition back to Oklahoma, the OSBI said.
