OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Langston University is considering expanding its Oklahoma City campus by purchasing the Oklahoma County Election Board building.
Langston now rents a portion of the building on north Lincoln Boulevard from the county. University officials have asked the Oklahoma County commissioners to consider selling it to the university.
Commissioner Jim Roth says county officials have been discussing Langston's offer for a few weeks. He says he would love to see Langston expand its Oklahoma City campus while also accommodating the county's needs.
Roth says Langston's Oklahoma City campus has seen increased success and enrollment in recent years.
Langston University's main campus is in the Logan County town of the same name and the university also has a Tulsa branch.
