OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An Oklahoma City man is named in an arrest warrant in connection with the October stabbing death of another man.
Police say 52-year-old Darrell Wayne Frederick killed 48-year-old Leon Pettus on October 15th at a northeast Oklahoma City residence. Pettus died of multiple stab wounds.
An affidavit signed by Oklahoma City Police Detective Roland Garrett notes that Pettus' girlfriend, Quinola Nelson, says Pettus was attacked from behind by a man she did not know.
The affidavit says that Nelson's brother, Darrel Nelson, told police that Frederick had approached him a few days later and expressed his regret for what happened to Pettus. According to the affidavit, Darrel Nelson said that Frederick said that Pettus had tried to kill him and that he was only defending himself.
