KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Duane John scored 21 points and Nick Covington added 19 as 2nd-seeded Oklahoma City beat Faulkner 76-61 to advance to the NAIA championship game.
The Stars (34-2) lost 67-65 to Texas Wesleyan on a last-second 3-pointer in last year's title game. In Tuesday night's final, OCU will meet Concordia of Irvine, California, which ousted top-seeded Robert Morris 124-119 in quadruple overtime.
OCU jumped to a 17-point 1st-half lead over the Eagles and led 41-28 at intermission on Ronald Taylor's 3-pointer with 2-seconds to go Monday night.
Jon Uriarte hit two jumpers and Bryant Murray connected from 12 feet to shave the lead to 63-52. But that was the last field goal the Eagles (24-11) would get until Murray's underhanded scoop made it 69-56 with 1:32 to go.
OCU scored its last 13 points from the foul line and made 25 of 37 free throws overall.
