Son Charged In Father's Shooting Death

DURANT, Okla. (AP) A murder charge has been filed in Bryan County against a Bennington man accused of fatally shooting his father.<br/><br/>Craig Ryan Andrews was charged with first-degree murder on Thursday.

DURANT, Okla. (AP) A murder charge has been filed in Bryan County against a Bennington man accused of fatally shooting his father.

Craig Ryan Andrews was charged with first-degree murder on Thursday. Police say the 28-year-old shot his father â€“ Steve Andrews -- on Tuesday while the older man sat in a recliner reading a book at the family home.

Andrews was arrested Tuesday evening. He reportedly told police that -- quote -- "the Lord told me to do it."

Andrews remains in the Bryan County jail with no bond. A competency hearing has been set for later this month.
