OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A measure proposing a "back-to-school sales tax holiday" in Oklahoma receives state Senate approval.
The measure would make shoes and clothing priced at less than $100 tax-free during the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday in August.
Durant state Senator Jay Paul Gumm and Lawton Senator Don Barrington sponsored the bill.
Gumm said Tuesday that a sales tax holiday in Texas had drawn away Oklahoma consumers before the start of school.
