DALLAS (AP) _ Fire swept through an apartment complex early Monday, injuring at least 12 people, including some who jumped from balconies in the three-story building to escape the flames.
Two people had severe burns from the blaze, and authorities were preparing to search for any victims who may have died inside.
As many as 100 units were damaged when the fire broke out shortly before midnight in the Harvey's Racquet Club Apartments, about a mile southeast of Dallas' Love Field airport. Fire spokesman Lt. Joel Lavender said no one called 911 until the fire was well under way.
About 300 tenants were forced to seek emergency shelter, according to the American Red Cross said.
