OKLAHOMA CIY (AP) -- A chain-reaction accident on Interstate 40 in Oklahoma City leaves two people dead.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Dennis Gibson of Shawnee was involved in a non-injury accident about 9:20 last night on I-40 near the I-240 junction when he got out of his car.
As Gibson attempted to cross I-40, the patrol says he was hit by a 1997 Honda Accord driven by Tommi Bierd of McLoud, thrown about 70 feet and then hit by a second vehicle.
Meanwhile, Bierd's car ran off the road, hit the median barrier and rolled, throwing her from the vehicle.
The OHP says both Gibson and Bierd were pronounced dead at the scene.
