Governor Brad Henry Visits Afghanistan

Governor Brad Henry was in Afghanistan on Thursday to meet with government and military leaders and Oklahoma military troops.
Henry is taking part in a Mideast tour of military sites with the governors of Minnesota and Arizona at the invitation of the U.S. State and Defense Departments.
The governors met with President Hamid Karzai in the presidential palace in Kabul and with General Dan McNeil who is commander of the International Security and Assistance Force.
Thursday's visit to Afghanistan comes after the Governor Brad Henry traveled to Iraq and Kuwait on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Governor Henry talked with the News On 6â€™s Joshua Brakhage via satellite from Kuwait on Wednesday before he headed to Afghanistan.

The U.S. Embassy says it can't say when or where the meetings with troops will take place because of security reasons and the trips were not announced beforehand at the request of the Defense Department.
