Need a backyard makeover or a new kitchen for the old homestead, then Tulsa’s Expo Square is where you'll need to be. The 57th edition of the Tulsa Home and Garden Show is now underway.
As News on 6’s Rick Wells reports, there is everything from patios to porches, even a pirate playhouse. It's a big show, more than 400 exhibitors to help improve our homes and gardens. Lots of work still being done when we stopped by.
Some of the vendors have been at the show for as many as 30 years. Take Airco for example, one of Tulsa's larger heating and air conditioning companies, started out very small. "Dad running service and mom answering the phone," says John Boyce with Airco. He says he still remembers running calls with his dad when he was a kid. The show gives him a chance to meet customers and just talk to people.
Then there is a big playhouse, a pirate playhouse. How about a 20 foot high playhouse for your backyard? There is a brig down below, the captain's quarters on the mid-level and up top you could survey the neighborhood. It includes some sand, a slide and a treasure cave included.
The pirate playhouse will be raffled to a lucky family. Plus, each person who pays to get in has a chance to win a $10,000 shopping spree.
Again, the show at Expo Square runs through Sunday. For more information check out www.tulsahba.com.
