OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Nicky Wieben scored 18 points as Iowa State used a string of second-half 3-pointers to hold off Kansas State 57-to-45 in the first round of the Big 12 Conference tournament.
5th-seeded Iowa State won its sixth straight game Tuesday and advanced to a quarterfinal matchup today against fourth-seeded Nebraska.
Kansas State has lost its last six games and failed to reach the NCAA tournament for the second straight season after making four straight trips from 2002 through 2005.
