OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Kansas continued its late-season surge as the Jayhawks knocked off Oklahoma State 71-to-62 in the first round of the Big 12 Conference women's tournament in Oklahoma City.
Kansas (11-19) will play third-seeded and 18th-ranked Baylor in the quarterfinals today.
The Jayhawks have won five of their last eight games following a stretch during which they lost 12 of 13.
Oklahoma State (20-10) will find out Monday if it's done enough to merit an at-large berth to the NCAA tournament.
The Cowgirls and Kansas swapped the lead 10 times. The Jayhawks took the lead for good at 56-to-55 with 4:49 left on a basket from underneath by Taylor McIntosh.
McIntosh followed with another basket and Danielle McCray added a 3-pointer during a two-minute stretch in which Oklahoma State attempted four 3-point shots and missed them all.
