NORMAN, Okla. (AP) A decision is expected next month on whether a Purcell man's murder trial in the brutal killing of a 10-year-old girl will be moved out of McClain County.
Kevin Ray Underwood is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jamie Rose Bolin in what prosecutors say was a cannibalistic plot. The girl lived with her father in the same apartment complex as Underwood.
Underwood's attorney wants the trial moved because of extensive pretrial publicity.
District Judge Candace Blalock says she's already nearly persuaded to move the trial -- possibly to Cleveland County – but wants to give prosecutors time to respond the change of venue request.
A decision is expected during a hearing on March 8th.
Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty in the case.
