A former bouncer charged with killing a Tulsa man in a downtown Tulsa parking garage in 2004 is finally headed for trial. Jury selection in Tulsa County District Court got underway Thursday in the trial of Jason Nicholson. News On 6 reporter Heather Lewin reports that testimony begins Friday in the case.

Jason Nicholson is charged in the death of 23-year-old Scott Bolton. In September 2004, Bolton was taking an intoxicated friend home. Tulsa Police say Nicholson and another bouncer followed Bolton and his friend to the parking garage.

Nicholson is accused of punching Bolton, causing him to fall and hit his head on the pavement. Bolton died five days later.

Bolton's family and friends have been vigilant ever since, keeping the case in the public eye as they waited through delay after delay for the trial to begin, now more than two years later. The other former bouncer, Clay Spicer was originally charged as well, but later cleared of any wrongdoing in Bolton's death.

Nicholson is facing a charge of first-degree manslaughter.
