LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Former Oklahoma State coach Eddie Sutton is one of 15 finalists for induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Sutton won 798 ballgames as a coach with stops at Creighton, Arkansas and Kentucky before he returned to his alma mater at OSU.
Other finalists announced Friday in Las Vegas include Phil Jackson, Dick Vitale, Roy Williams, Adrian Dantley and the 1966 Texas Western NCAA championship team.
A 24-person committee will vote on the final selections with 18 votes needed to enter the Hall of Fame. The 2007 class will be announced April 2nd at the Final Four in Atlanta and the induction ceremonies will be in Springfield, Massachusetts on September 7th.
